Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Codemarket OÜ (“we”, “us”) for SeenShot for Mac, seenshot.app, and the SeenShot API. By downloading the app, creating an account, or using Share Link, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use SeenShot.

2. What SeenShot is
SeenShot is a macOS screenshot app. You capture a region (Path Screen Shot) or the full screen, annotate (Square, Steps, Arrow, Line, Text, Blur, Photo, Color, Background), save a PNG on your Mac, and optionally sign in and use Share Link to store a PNG in our cloud and publish a public URL on seenshot.app.
The Mac app is offered as a free download (DMG) from GitHub Releases linked on seenshot.app. Local Save stays on your disk. Cloud storage is a separate service that requires an account.
3. Eligibility
You must be old enough to form a contract in your country. The service is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 where EU/UK law requires a higher age for an information-society service. You must not use a disposable email to create an account; we may reject those addresses.
4. Account
Sign-in uses email and password (or email link) through Google Firebase / Identity Platform. The same account works in the Mac app (OAuth Authorization Code + PKCE to seenshot://oauth) and on seenshot.app. You are responsible for the email and password you use. Sign Out on the website clears the seenshot_id cookie and localStorage tokens. Sign Out in the Mac app clears the QSettings session.
5. License to the Mac app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run SeenShot on Apple-branded Macs you own or control, for your own screenshot work. We do not sell you the source code. You may not reverse engineer the app except where applicable law (including EU software directive rights) cannot be waived. You may not rent, sublicense, or redistribute the binary except by sharing the official download link.
Updates may be offered through Sparkle or GitHub Releases. We may change or discontinue features.
6. Your content
You own the screenshots you capture. A shot can include anything that was on your screen, including other people’s data, copyrighted material, or confidential information. You are solely responsible for what you capture, save, upload, and publish.
When you use Share Link, you grant us a worldwide license to store the PNG on Cloudflare R2, serve it to you, and, if you make it public, serve it to anyone with the URL. That license ends when the file is deleted from our storage, except for copies that already left our systems (for example a browser cache or a person who downloaded the PNG).
You represent that you have the rights needed to upload and, if you publish, to make the PNG public. Public URLs are world-readable. Do not treat a public link as private.
7. Cloud storage and quota
Signed-in cloud storage is 10 MB per Free account and 1 GB per Member account after Polar confirms an active subscription. When a new upload would exceed that cap, oldest cloud shots are removed first (FIFO) until the new file fits. Unused upload leftovers older than about one hour are deleted. We may change the cap.
8. Member
Member is listed at USD 29 per year. If you pay, Polar processes the payment and we may store a Polar customer id on your user row. Paid Member storage (1 GB) applies after Polar confirms an active subscription. Refunds are described in the Refund Policy.
If you are a consumer in the EU/UK, mandatory consumer law still applies, including withdrawal rights for digital content as described in the Refund Policy.
9. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. We may remove public shots, suspend an account, or refuse service for violations, illegal content, or abuse of quota or the API.
10. Copyright complaints
See Copyright and Takedown. Send notices to abuse@seenshot.com. Public share pages also include a Report control that opens a GitHub issue.
11. Privacy
How we process personal data is in the Privacy Policy. You can export account JSON and delete the account from SeenShot Settings (signed in): Export my data and Delete account.
12. Third-party services
SeenShot uses Cloudflare (hosting, D1, R2), Google Firebase (auth), PostHog (Mac app analytics and crash reports; opt-out file ~/.posthog_optout), Polar (payments if you check out), and GitHub (releases and issue reports). Their terms apply to their processing. The landing page may call GitHub’s Releases API from your browser.
13. macOS permissions
Screen Recording is required to capture. Camera is requested only for Photo. Those permissions are controlled by macOS. We do not receive screen pixels unless you Share Link a PNG (or otherwise upload). Save does not send the file to us.
14. Availability and changes
We provide SeenShot “as is”. Cloud storage, public links, and the website may be interrupted. We may modify these Terms by posting a new version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after the date is acceptance, except where consumer law requires a different process.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. SeenShot is a screenshot tool; we do not warrant that captures, annotations, or public links will meet a particular legal or archival standard. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory statutory warranties that cannot be excluded (including EU consumer guarantees).
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss. For paid Member, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us for SeenShot in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit. EU/UK consumers keep rights that cannot be waived.
17. Indemnity
If you are using SeenShot in a business capacity, you will indemnify Codemarket OÜ against claims arising from screenshots you upload or publish, or from your breach of these Terms. This clause does not apply to consumers to the extent prohibited by law.
18. Termination
You may stop using SeenShot and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or close an account for breach, legal risk, or if we shut down the service. After deletion, cloud PNGs and account rows are removed as described in the Privacy Policy. Local files on your Mac remain yours to delete in Finder.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence (including EU Regulation 1215/2012 / Brussels I recast and Directive 93/13/EEC on unfair terms). Consumers may bring claims in the courts of their residence. The European Commission’s ODR platform is available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. You may also use Estonian courts in Tallinn.
We do not impose a US class-action waiver or a mandatory individual arbitration clause.
